God Save The Green

The Objective

This blog has been inspired by frustration. Frustration with elected representatives who appear not to be taking climate change seriously.  There is tons of data from scientists all over the globe which shows the Earth is heating up and this is more than 90 percent certain to be linked to human-produced greenhouse gases. Since pre-industrial times the world’s surface temperature has increased by 0.8C. If we carry on pumping out greehouse gases, it’s going to get hotter and human civilisation faces untold consequences, according to United Nations scientists and economists like Sir Nicholas Stern. Yet what are our MPs doing about it? Blatently nowhere near enough. So the aim of this blog, in addition to discussing various environment stories, is to badger MPs and publish their responses. If God Save The Green thinks they’re doing enough it will praise them; if not, they face damnation. Local authorities will also come under the spotlight.

Note: While this blog is called “God Save The Green”, it should be pointed out that it has nothing to do with religion, although many of its author’s friends probably think environmentalism is a kind of cult, to him.
